Cambodia: Regional summit in Siem Reap April 4-5
Leaders of Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam to participate in Mekong River Commission (MRC) Summit in Siem Reap April 4-5

The prime ministers of Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam will attend the third Mekong River Commission (MRC) Summit, taking place in Siem Reap on Wednesday, April 4, and Thursday, April 5. The meetings will be held at the Sokha Siem Reap Resort and Convention Center. Increased security measures and road restrictions are expected in the vicinity of the summit.
Context
A wide array of issues and challenges facing the region will be discussed, including economic growth, a growing population, infrastructure development, climate change, and energy. The leaders are expected to endorse a declaration to strengthen joint efforts and regional partnerships. The two previous summits were held in 2010 in Hua Hin (Thailand) and in 2014 in Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam).
