Colombia: Car-free day in Medellín April 24

Medellín, along with the nine other municipalities in the Aburrá Valley, is holding a “car-free” day on Tuesday, April 24. No motorcycles or cars with fewer than three occupants will be allowed on the roads between 07:00 and 19:00 (local time). Electric cars and cars powered by natural gas will be exempted.

The move is a bid to persuade residents to use public transportation more often in the city, which is plagued by major traffic congestion and associated high levels of air pollution.
