Several unions call for demonstrations to take place in Brussels on May 16; anticipate traffic disruptions

Several Belgian trade unions, including the CSC, FGTB, and CGSLB, have called for a demonstration to take place in Brussels on Wednesday, May 16, to protest the government's reform of the country's pension system. Demonstrators are expected to rally at 11:00 (local time) in front of the Bruxelles-Nord train station, before marching towards the Bruxelles-Midi train station. Unions have also announced plans to file a strike notice for May 16. As of Tuesday, May 1, no strike has been confirmed.
