On Sunday, May 6, several dozen Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) supporters allegedly attacked supporters of the İYİ Party in the Avcilar district of Istanbul, wounding at least eight people. According to local sources, eight of the assailants were arrested by Istanbul police on Monday, May 7. Further clashes between supporters of opposing political parties are possible in the coming days and weeks.
