Major rail disruptions expected throughout the country June 29-30 due to strike by Belgian Rail employees

A strike by workers at Belgian Rail (SNCB), the country’s national train operator, is set run from 22:00 (local time) on Thursday, June 28, until 22:00 on Saturday, June 30. Belgian Rail is warning of major disruptions during this 48-hour period throughout the rail network. Delays, modified timetables, last-minute cancelations, and overcrowding on available trains are to be anticipated. Increased road congestion in urban areas is also likely, notably on Friday as commuters seek alternate means of transportation.

Residual disruptions on July 1 are also possible.
