Dominican Rep.: General strike June 12-14 in two cities

A general strike has been called for by the FALPO movement (Frente Amplio de Lucha Popular) to take place in the cities of San Francisco de Macorís (Duarte province) and Salcedo (Hermanas Mirabal province). The strike will begin at 06:00 on Tuesday, June 12 (local time), and last for 48 hours. Public transit, business, and commercial disruptions are possible, along with associated protests.
