RATP warns disruptions along Paris regional rail line between Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse and Orsay-Ville may last for days due to train derailment

Warning

Event

RATP warned on Tuesday, June 12, that service disruptions on the RER line B between Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse and Courcelle-sur-Yvette will likely continue for several days due to ongoing repair efforts. All rail traffic between the two stations was suspended after a passenger train derailed at approximately 05:00 (local time) on Tuesday after an embankment collapsed due to heavy rain. RATP has ordered 25 buses to provide alternative service between Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse and Gif-sur-Yvette while the rail line is being repaired. Residual transportation disruptions are expected in the coming days.

Advice

Individuals in affected areas are advised to keep abreast of weather alerts, confirm travel reservations, and allow for extra time to reach their destinations.
