Thunderstorm alerts for much of central and northwestern France, including Paris region, June 11; flooding, transportation disruptions possible

The meteorological authorities at Météo France have issued orange storm and rain alerts, the second-highest on a four-point scale, for much of the northwest and center of the country for Monday, June 11. A total of 27 departments are covered by the alerts as of Monday morning (local time), including the Paris region. Two southwestern departments are also on alert, Gers and Tarn-et-Garonne.

Related air and rail disruptions, hazardous driving conditions, and power outages are possible.
