Thousands of people expected to celebrate Golden State Warriors’ National Basketball Association (NBA) championship victory in Oakland (California) June 12; authorities to implement road closures

Nearly one million people are expected to celebrate the recent championship victory of the Golden State Warriors in the National Basketball Association (NBA) playoffs in a parade in Oakland (California) on Tuesday, June 12. The parade is slated to begin at 11:00 (local time) and will start from Broadway at 11th Street, and then turn right on 20th Street, turn right on Harrison to 19th Street, turn right on Lakeside Drive, and end at the intersection of Oak and 13th streets.

Extra Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) service is scheduled to be provided throughout the day on Tuesday to accommodate fans; crowded conditions may prompt BART service disruptions. AC Transit buses will be detoured to facilitate the passage of the parade and accommodate the expected large crowds. Dozens of road closures will also be in effect beginning from 12:00 on Monday, June 11 (local time), to 19:00 on Tuesday to facilitate the passing of the parade.
