At approximately 21:00 (local time) on Friday, September 14, armed rebels attacked a Congolese outpost in Kavimvira along the DRC-Uganda border. According to security officials, Congolese forces killed at least two attackers. The incident led to the temporary closure of border crossing points between both countries.
