Austria: Far-right group to demonstrate in Vienna October 26

Several far-right groups have called for a "March of the Patriots" to take place in Vienna on Friday, October 26, to denounce immigration and in commemoration of Austrian National Day. Demonstrators are expected to gather at 14:00 (local time) at Michaelerplatz. Counterdemonstrations by anti-fascist groups are possible. Heightened security measures, including an increased police presence, and localized traffic disruptions are anticipated at all protest sites. Clashes between rival protesters, as well as between demonstrators and security forces, cannot be ruled out.
