Chile: National teacher strike and protests October 3-4
48-hour national teacher strike October 3-4; school closures possible, protest marches expected

Teachers across Chile are holding a 48-hour strike on Wednesday, October 3, and Thursday, October 4. Members of the student union CONFECH are also expected to take part. Associated marches with the potential to result in low-level violence and/or traffic disruptions are expected in cities throughout the country. The strike may also result in school closures.
