Hong Kong: MTR lines resume normal service after glitch October 16

Hong Kong transit officials announced around noon (local time) Tuesday, October 16, that normal service had resumed for four MTR lines affected by a signaling glitch earlier in the day. A simultaneous failure of signaling resulted in train delays as long as 40 minutes along four lines. The glitch lasted six hours during Tuesday's morning rush hour and had a cascading effect on bus and taxi service as well. Residual delays and congestion for all forms of transportation is possible during the afternoon.
