Poland: LGBT marches in Wroclaw and Lublin Oct. 6 and 13

LGBT rallies to be held in Wroclaw and Lublin on October 6 and 13; traffic disruptions possible

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) groups and supporters are set to hold a march for equality in Wroclaw (Lower Silesian province) on Saturday, October 6. Protesters will gather at Wolnosci Square at 15:00 (local time). Another march is scheduled to take place in Krola Wladyslawa Square in Lublin (Lublin province) at 13:00 on Saturday, October 13.

Counter protests are also being organized and clashes between rival groups are possible, along with localized traffic disruptions.

Context

Clashes occurred between supporters and opponents of LGBT rights during a Pride rally in Szczecin (West Pomeranian province) on September 15. Around 20 people were arrested after counter demonstrators threw projectiles at participants.
