Poland: Environmental campaigners to stage roadblock protests in Warsaw from Nov. 25

Environmental campaigners to stage roadblock protest in Wislostrada, Warsaw, Poland, from Nov. 25; localized disruptions likely.

Informational

Environmental campaigners plan to stage roadblock protests in Warsaw from Nov. 25. The Last Generation group states that activists from across Poland will block Wislostrada in the city for several weeks. However, authorities are likely to intervene to clear the road blocks, and to minimise disruptions.

Officials will likely deploy additional police to monitor the protest and to mitigate any disruptions. Security measures and road closures will likely prompt disruptions to traffic including bus routes. The demonstration will likely to pass off peacefully, however scuffles are possible in the event that police attempt to clear the protestors forcibly.

Avoid the protests and march as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling in the affected area. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers.
