Farmers to stage go-slow convoys, protests across Poland Dec. 3. Increased security, traffic disruptions likely.
Farmers plan to stage go-slow convoys with agricultural vehicles in multiple areas nationwide on Dec. 3. The purpose of the demonstration is to denounce the proposed Mercosur trade agreement between the EU and South American countries. As of Dec. 2, gatherings were planned in the following locations:
Bialopole-Raciborowice: Go-slow tractor procession on Provincial Road 844 09:00-15:00.
Byszki: Protest 09:00-17:00.
Egiertowo: Protest from 10:00.
Elblag: Tractor protest through the city center from 10:00.
Ketrzyn: Protest from 10:00.
Lotyn: Protest 09:00-17:00.
Olecko: Protest.
Pruszcz Gdanski: Gathering at Zulawskie roundabout at 11:00 before tractor protest through the city center.
Tarnawatka: Protest.
Additional farmers' protests are likely in other areas nationwide.
Local authorities will likely deploy additional police officers to mitigate traffic disruptions. Convoy operations will probably prompt significant congestion in affected city centers and on major roadways where demonstrations take place. Roadblocks and heightened security may prompt business disruptions; for example, delivery vehicles may not be able to access city center locations. The events will likely pass off peacefully.
Expect significant disruptions near farmers' protests nationwide. Allow extra time for travel and reconfirm all business appointments near demonstrations. Heed the instructions of local police.
