Farmers in Poland threaten roadblock protests at border crossings with Ukraine from Dec. 10. Farmers are denouncing the proposed Mercosur trade agreement between the EU and South American countries. Farmers in Poland staged widespread roadblocks and go-slow convoys protests in late November and early December, including at the Medika-Szegini border crossing; it is possible that several hundred vehicles will take part from Dec. 10. Additional farmers' protests are likely in other areas nationwide.

Local authorities will likely deploy additional police officers to mitigate traffic disruptions. Border roadblocks will likely prompt delays for freight transport traveling between Poland and Ukraine. Convoy operations will probably prompt significant congestion in affected city centers and on major roadways where demonstrations take place. Roadblocks and heightened security may prompt business disruptions; for example, delivery vehicles may not be able to access city center locations. The events will likely pass off peacefully.
