Ecuador: Taxi drivers protest in Quito November 29

Taxi drivers in Quito launched a “go-slow” protest on Thursday, November 29, starting at 08:00 (local time). The protesters organized three vehicle convoys, causing significant traffic disruptions across the city. In the Panamericana Sur area, taxis started driving down Maldonado Avenue before traveling through Villaflora and Machángara to El Trébol. The second convoy moved through the Guamaní area to Quito’s Historic Center along Mariscal Sucre Avenue. A third caravan traveled down Avenida 6 de Diciembre to Parque El Arbolito. Further protests by taxi drivers are possible in the coming days and weeks.
