Austria: Salzburg Airport to close April 24-May 28, 2019

Salzburg Airport (SZG) officials have announced that the airport will be closed to all air traffic from April 24 through May 28, 2019, for general repairs. According to officials, the 60-year-old runway needs to be refurbished and partial renovations are no longer possible. SZG is the second largest airport in Austria and it is unclear as of early December if alternative travel arrangements will be made available during the repair period.
