Red and orange weather alerts (the highest and second-highest levels on a four-level scale) for strong winds were issued on Thursday, January 24, along the country's northern coast. According to the European National Meteorological Services (meteoalarm), red alerts are in effect in the Velebit Channel and Kvarner and Kvarneric region, while orange alerts are in effect in South Dalmatia, Rijeka, and Middle Dalmatia. Associated transportation disruptions are expected.
