Blizzard conditions have affected parts of Greece in recent days, leaving at least one person dead and two others missing in Keratea (Attica region) and resulting in flight disruptions at Thessaloniki Airport "Makedonia" (SKG) as of Saturday, January 5. Poor visibility at SKG on Saturday morning (local time) led to flight cancelations and diversions that affected dozens of passengers. Road closures have also been reported in the Thessaloniki area and elsewhere across the country.

Further cold weather is forecast to affect Greece from Monday, January 7. Lingering transportation disruptions are possible in affected areas over the coming days.
