A double suicide bombing was reported in the city of Zahedan (Sistan and Baluchestan province), located near the borders with Afghanistan and Pakistan, on Tuesday, January 29. According to local sources, militants detonated suicide vests in front of a police station, wounding at least four people. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack as of January 29. Similar militant attacks are possible in Sistan and Baluchestan province in the near term.
