Johannesburg M2 motorway to close from February 28 until October 2019; transportation disruptions expected

Johannesburg will close a bridge on the M2 motorway, or Francois Oberholzer Freeway, beginning Thursday, February 28, for repairs expected to last until October 2019. The road will close between the M1/M2 Crown Interchange and Maritzburg Street. No access to northbound M1 lanes will be possible during the closure and westbound lanes of the Heidelberg Interchange will be closed. Significant transportation disruptions and congestion are likely during the construction period.
