Large anti-racism protest planned in central Brussels March 24; heightened security and localized transportation disruptions to be anticipated

A large protest to denounce racism is planned in central Brussels on Sunday, March 24. Participants will gather at Gare du Nord beginning at 14:00 (local time) and march to Place du Jeu de Balle, passing by Mont des Arts en route. The march will conclude with a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the Christchurch (New Zealand) mosque shootings. A heightened security presence and localized transportation disruptions are to be anticipated along the march route; some 5000 people are expected to take part in the march.
