Hong Kong: Rights group plans protests March 10, 31
A civil society group is organizing protests on March 10 and 31 to denounce revisions to the current extradition law; heightened security measures expected

The Civil Human Rights Front (CHRF) is planning to hold protests in Hong Kong on Sunday, March 10, and Sunday, March 31, to denounce government revisions to the current extradition law. CHRF leaders have invited members of the public to participate in a demonstration outside of the Hong Kong Liaison Office in Sai Wan on March 10. On March 31, the group is calling for supporters to gather at Southorn Playground in Wan Chia starting at 15:00 (local time) before marching to Government House. Heightened security measures and localized traffic disruptions are expected around all protest sites.

CHRF claims that the proposed revisions to the extradition law will put Hong Kong dissidents at risk of being extradited to mainland China. Under the revisions, the government would be able to extradite fugitives on a case-by-case basis to jurisdictions with which Hong Kong does not have a current extradition agreement.
