Unidentified militants killed one person, wounded three others, and kidnapped at least two people in an attack in Ghadduwah (Fezzan region) early (local time) on Monday, March 25. The militants also reportedly destroyed communications lines in the area. Unconfirmed reports have attributed the attack to the Islamic State (IS) group. Security forces affiliated with the Libyan National Army (LNA) and the Central Security Forces have mobilized in response to the assault.
Despite the security forces' mobilization, similar militant attacks are possible in Fezzan region over the coming weeks.
