Austria: Residual disruptions expected after train collision in Vienna Apr. 4

A passenger train operated by national rail company ÖBB collided with a truck in the Donaustadt district of Vienna on Thursday morning (local time), April 4, leaving at least 15 people injured. Officials indicate a truck bypassed a rail crossing gate and was struck by a train traveling on the Marchegger Ostbahn line. ÖBB authorities have suspended rail services between Wien Aspern Nord and Raasdorf until 14:00 (local time) on Friday, April 5. Replacement shuttle services are available to local passengers, while REX trains via Bratislava (Slovakia) are being rerouted via Gänserndorf.  

Lingering delays and cancelations are to be expected across the rail network over the coming hours.
