Dominican Republic: Ongoing transportation strike in Puerto Plata province April 8-9

The Federation of Transporters of Puerto Plata province (FETRAPP) announced that a general strike would be held on Monday, April 8 and Tuesday, April 9 to demand the completion of the renovation work on the Puerto Plata-Navarrete highway. Roads in Maimon (Puerto Plata province) will be closed over the two days.

Associated transportation disruptions, including interrupted services and increased demand for alternative modes of transportation, are expected during this period. Further strikes cannot be ruled out in the coming weeks.
