Serbia: Violence possible during Belgrade sporting events April 22 and 25

Violence between rival fans possible in Belgrade during basketball game April 22, football game April 25; heightened security presence and localized traffic disruptions expected

Violence is possible between supporters of the Red Star basketball club and visiting club Budućnost during a basketball game at Aleksandar Nikolić Hall (formerly Pionir Hall) in Belgrade on Monday, April 22. The game is set to begin at 19:00 (local time). Additionally, a football game between Red Star and visiting club Partizan will take place at Rajko Mitic Stadium on Thursday, April 25, beginning at 19:00.

Altercations between the fans are possible in and around the stadiums. A heightened security presence and localized traffic disruptions are to be expected near the stadiums over the coming hours and days.

Individuals in Belgrade are advised to avoid the areas around the sporting events, avoid all demonstrations as a precaution, monitor developments to the situation, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities.
