Demonstrators erected roadblocks forcing the partial shutdown of the N2 highway between Somerset West and Sir Lowry's Pass, while violent protests were reported in Khayelitsha on Thursday. Looting and clashes with security forces also took place in Nomzamo between the evening hours (local time) of Wednesday, April 10, to Thursday morning.
