Mexico: Pride march planned in Mexico City June 28-29
LGBTQI+ groups plan Pride events in Mexico City June 28-29; heightened security measures and associate disruptions expected

Various Mexican LGBT groups are holding Pride festivities in Mexico City on Friday, June 26, and Saturday, June 27, to support equal rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex people. Events will take place on Friday in the evening (local time) at the Zocalo and in other downtown areas of Mexico City. A march will start at Paseo de la Reforma and will begin at 11:00 on Saturday. Organizers are expecting 450,000 attendees at the events.
Heightened security measures and associated traffic disruptions are expected around the Pride march. Counter-protests by conservative elements are also possible during the celebration.
