Greece: Wildfire forces evacuation of residents near Lamia July 10

A wildfire has forced the evacuation of residents near Lamia (Phthiotis) on Wednesday, July 10, as it continues to burn dry grassland outside of Divri. Four wildfires have been reported in the area, with strong gusts and sweltering temperatures of 40°C (104°F) abetting their spread.

Although firefighters are attempting to contain the blazes, further spread of the wildfires is possible over the coming hours and days. Localized transportation disruptions are to be expected near the fires.
