Heavy rains are forecast for Maharashtra state from Monday, July 29, through Friday, August 2. According to the Met department, Mumbai is forecast to have extremely heavy rainfall on Monday, July 29. An orange alert has been issued in three districts, including Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg. Further rainfall and associated disruptions, including transportation disruptions, are likely over the coming days.

Individuals in the affected areas are advised to monitor local weather reports, avoid areas directly affected by flooding, confirm road conditions and flight reservations before setting out, and adhere to instructions issued by local authorities. Avoid walking or driving through floodwaters; 15 cm (6 in) of running water is enough to knock over an adult.
