The Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA) confirmed on Tuesday, September 17, that doctors in the public sector will hold a 24-hour nationwide strike beginning on Wednesday, September 18. Union leaders said that members at all state hospitals will participate in the industrial action, starting at 08:00 (local time). However, critical and emergency services will not be impacted by the work stoppage. Disruptions to regular healthcare services, including longer wait times and canceled appointments, are possible during the strike.
