On Wednesday, October 9, the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs updated its travel advisory for Iran, stating, "due in particular to the arbitrary arrest and detention practices of the Iranian security and intelligence services, visiting Iran today poses risks." It has also warned that contacts of foreign nationals with the local population were surveilled, notably for those in universities.
