Women’s march planned in Mexico City November 25; heightened security presence and transportation disruptions expected

Activists will hold a march in Mexico City on Monday, November 25, to mark the International Day for the Eradication of Violence against Women. Participants will gather at the Ángel de la Independencia at 17:00 (local time) and march to Zócalo. Another group will meet at the Monumento a la Revolución at 18:00 and march toward the Antimonumenta. The local government will reportedly deploy more than 1000 security personnel to monitor the event.

A heightened security presence and localized disruptions, such as road closures and transportation delays, are expected in Mexico City.
