The Extinction Rebellion (XR) environmental activist group plans to demonstrate at the Brussels Motor Show on Saturday, January 18, to protest the ecological impact of the car industry. The Motor Show is being held at the Brussels Expo from Friday, January 10, through Sunday, January 19. XR activists have said that between 13:00 and 16:00 (local time) on Saturday, they will disrupt the the show in groups of two to six people with various actions of non-violent civil disobedience.
A heightened security presence and localized transportation disruptions are expected near the Expo on Saturday.
