Inter-communal clashes in the Balail, Hajir, Togo, Umm Kuja, Abujabra, Damso, Tulus, and Katila areas (South Darfur state) killed at least 30 people on Tuesday, May 5. The violence reportedly involved rival members from the Fallata and Rizeigat tribes and was sparked by a cattle raid at 03:00 (local time). Sudanese authorities have deployed additional security forces to the area as the situation remains tense.
