Protesters plan to gather outside of US Embassy in Banjul on June 27; avoid all demonstrations

The US Embassy in Banjul reported that a protest is planned outside of the Embassy in the Serrekunda area on Saturday, June 27. Protesters are expected to gather between 10:00 and 11:00 (local time) on Kairaba Avenue between Pipeline Mosque and the Embassy. The gathering is planned despite regulations under the current state of emergency, which limits public gatherings, however, some reports suggest that authorities have allowed the protest to proceed. The demonstration is reportedly to show support for the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement in the US.  

Overland travel disruptions are to be expected in the vicinity of the demonstration.
