Informational

Event

Security forces have announced that suspected Islamic State (IS) members have been arrested in operations in Misrata (Misrata district) and Al-Zawiya (Zawiya district) on Sunday, July 5, and Monday, July 6. On Sunday the Joint Security Operations room reported that an individual of Syrian nationality was arrested in Misrata following an investigation. Further security operations targeting suspected militants are possible in the near term.

Advice

The security environment in Libya remains complex. Although travel is possible in some areas (with appropriate security protocols in place), other areas should be considered strictly off-limits. Professional security advice and support should be sought prior to travel.
