The International Pentecostal Holiness Church in Zuurbekom (Gauteng province) was reportedly attacked on Saturday, July 11, by a splinter group of the church. Police sources state that 30 suspects have so far been arrested and that five people were found dead on the scene. The church was reportedly closed due to lockdown regulations when it was attacked at 03:00 (local time) on Saturday, and the attack is believed to be the result of a leadership battle at the church. The incident is ongoing as of 1215, as police officers are carrying out negotiations with the hostage-takers. 

A heightened security presence and further transportation disruptions should be expected in the coming several hours.
