Tornado in Inner Mongolia causes damage and casualties on August 9; expect disruptions

A tornado reportedly injured 33 people and caused damage at a tourist site in northern Inner Mongolia on Sunday, August 9. State officials announced that the tornado had struck Swan Lake, near BaotouDarhan Muminggan Joint Banner, damaging over 100 yurts and injuring tourists and workers at the site. Three individuals are believed to be seriously injured and are receiving treatment at local hospitals.
