Austria: Environmental activists to hold demonstrations in Vienna September 26
Members of Extinction Rebellion plan to hold protests in Vienna on September 26; associated disruptions to transport expected

Members of the environmental activist group Extinction Rebellion (XR) are planning to hold protests in Vienna on Saturday, September 26. Demonstrators will gather at Schrannenplatz at 13:00 (local time) and also at Sigmund-Freud Park at 16:30.
Whilst the demonstration is expected to be peaceful in nature, previous protests by XR have deliberately aimed at causing disruption to transport. Localized disruptions are therefore expected in the vicinity of both protest sites.
