A large explosion at a battery-producing facility in Nasimshahr, on the outskirts of Tehran, has killed at least one person and left more than 20 injured on Friday, September 11. According to a local official, besides the casualties, 30 buildings, and 23 vehicles were also damaged in the blast, which occurred in a warehouse district of Nasimshahr. The cause of the blast is not immediately known. An investigation into the incident has been initiated by police.

Residual traffic disruptions are to be expected in the area over the coming hours.
