Significant rail travel disruptions have been reported in the Catalonia region as of 09:30 (local time) on Friday, September 11, due to overnight track vandalism between Figueres and Girona.  Currently, routes including the AVE Barcelona-Paris and the AVE Barcelona-Lyon circulations have been altered, as well as the RENFE Barcelona-Figueres high-speed line. It is not immediately known when the tracks will be repaired and normal service will resume. 

Authorities advise customers not to travel and seek alternative modes of transportation. Knock-on delays and cancellations are expected.
