Guatemala: Veterans groups protest nationwide October 26

Veterans of the Guatemalan armed forces are staging demonstrations nationwide on Monday, October 26, after the country's legislature failed to implement legislation regarding the welfare of soldiers and their families. Activists are blocking roads across the country between 06:00 and 15:00 (local time) and gatherings are occurring outside of the Congress building in Guatemala City, where a heightened security presence has also been reported.
