Police clashed with protesters who had gathered in Warsaw on Saturday, October 24, to denounce restrictions introduced due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. Protesters gathered at Plac Defilad from 12:00 (local time) where they began to hold a march towards the headquarters of the ruling Law and Justice party (PiS). Police intervened after the march broke current COVID-19 restrictions and fired tear gas at protesters in the resulting scuffles. At least one protester was injured in the clashes. Over 120 people were also detained during the protest which concluded at Warszawa-Śródmieście station.
