South Africa: Protests scheduled in Pretoria for October 5

A protest march has been scheduled to take place on Monday, October 5, in Pretoria. The march has been organized by the Truckers Association of South Africa to demand improved regulatory oversight and operating licenses. Participants of the event are set to gather at approximately 09:00 (local time) at Old Putco Depot in Marabastad before marching to the Department of Transport.

A heightened security presence and transportation disruptions are expected near any demonstration site, and clashes between protesters and security forces cannot be ruled out.
