Spain: Protesters to gather in Barcelona October 16

Restaurant workers are expected to gather in Barcelona on Friday, October 16, to denounce the closure of bars and restaurants due to the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). The protest is scheduled to occur from 12:00 (local time) at Placa de Sant Jaume.

Localized disruptions and a heightened security presence should also be expected around the protest. Police may attempt to disperse the protest if it is deemed to breach current restrictions on public gathering introduced due to COVID-19.
