At least six people were injured and dozens of others injured on Wednesday, October 14, in Suakin (Red Sea state) following tribal clashes that broke out over the removal of the neighboring state's governor. Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdok on Tuesday removed the governor of Kassala State following strong opposition to his appointment and protests by the Hadandawa tribe. The move was rejected by the Beni Amer tribe, thus leading to clashes in the city.
